EDC15 Multimap Tool (mapswitch)
Upload the original read and get your file back with the multimap injected. EDC15 from the VAG group only.
We inject a multimap (also called mapswitch, multi-map or map switching) into your Bosch EDC15 ECU read: up to three maps you select from the car with the brake pedal, no extra hardware. Built for VAG workshops and tuners, on engines such as the 1.9 TDI, among others.

The token is personal and non-transferable. If misuse is detected (for example, sharing it with third parties or bulk automation), NorTuner may revoke it without notice.
How to switch maps in the car
You switch with the accelerator floored and a double tap of the brake, on purpose: so it never changes by accident. Always do this in safe conditions.
- With the ignition on, floor the accelerator and hold it.
- Without lifting off the accelerator, press and release the brake once: it arms (you have about 7 s). The rev-counter needle moves to the active map's position.
- Within those ~7 s, press and release the brake again: it jumps to the next map and the needle moves to its position. Tap again to cycle through the maps.
- After ~7 s without touching the brake, the rev-counter reads normally again and the map is locked in.
The needle shows the active map: 1000 rpm = map 1, 2000 rpm = map 2, 3000 rpm = map 3.
Multimap for EDC15P, EDC15P+ and EDC15VM+
Multimap tool (also called mapswitch, map switch, map switching or switchable maps) for Bosch EDC15 ECUs from the VAG group (Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT and Škoda). It works on any engine that uses these ECUs: the 1.9 TDI is the most common, but not the only one. Compatibility:
Common VAG EDC15 1.9 TDI engine codes: ASZ, ATD, AXR, AJM, AUY, ARL, AVB, AWX, AVF, ASV, AHF, ALH. (As long as the ECU is compatible).
- EDC15P and EDC15P+ (for example 1.9 TDI PD and other engines that use them): compatible.
- EDC15VM+: compatible.
- Other brands (Opel, Renault, PSA…), EDC15C and EDC15M: not compatible. We only work with VAG group EDC15.
- EDC16, ME7 and other ECUs: not compatible.
FAQ
Which ECUs are supported?
Bosch EDC15P, EDC15P+ and EDC15VM+ from the VAG group, fitted to many different engines (for example the 1.9 TDI). It is not compatible with other brands (EDC15C, EDC15M, Opel, Renault, PSA…).
Does it work on the 1.9 TDI?
Yes. The 1.9 TDI is the most common engine with these ECUs, but not the only one: any VAG group engine with EDC15P, EDC15P+ or EDC15VM+ will do.
What is a multimap or mapswitch?
It means putting several engine maps in a single ECU read and choosing which one to use from the car. Multimap, multi-map, mapswitch and map switching all mean the same thing.
How many maps can I have?
Up to three maps you can select from the car (map 1, 2 and 3).
How do I switch maps?
With the accelerator floored and a double tap of the brake, on purpose so it never changes by accident. The rev-counter needle shows the active map: 1000 rpm = map 1, 2000 rpm = map 2, 3000 rpm = map 3.
Do I need extra hardware?
No. Just the file: the multimap is injected into the read itself, with no extra switches or buttons, and nothing has to be installed in the car.
Which file do I upload?
The full flash read of the ECU, exactly 512 KB (.bin). If the read is partial, it may not work. You get the same file back with the multimap injected.
Does it work with EDC15VM+?
Yes, EDC15VM+ from the VAG group is compatible.
What if my ECU isn't EDC15P, P+ or VM+?
Not compatible: the tool only works with VAG group EDC15 and rejects everything else (EDC16, ME7, other brands…) without using any credit.
If the file can't be processed, no credit is used. In that case we keep a copy of the file and the reason for the failure only to improve the tool.
